Position Title: Market Data Analyst

Department: Marketing

Location: Nexen Richfield, OH office

Supervisor: Product Planning Director

Position Overview:

The primary roles and responsibilities of the Market Data Analyst are to increase Nexen’s business competitiveness and profitability by gathering market intelligence data, generating reports, and performing analysis to gain insight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assessing data from a variety of sources to gain insights into pricing strategies and market trends

2. Analyzing competitor pricing and market trends to increase market share and profitability

3. Recommending pricing strategies that align closely with market trends and identifying new market segments

4. Collaborating with sales and marketing departments on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies

5. Preparing and presenting data analysis findings to executives, marketing teams, and sales staff

6. Prepare accurate reports for the Product Planning Director

Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:

1. Advanced Excel proficiency required

2. Familiarity with analytical tools within and related to excel (Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, lookup functions, pivot tables, data work).

3. In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis

4. Advanced ability to present data analysis reports to top management

5. Excellent analytical and communication skills

Education and Experience:

1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or in a related field (preferred)

2. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a market data analyst

3. Experience in collaborating with sales and marketing department

Working Hours:

8am-5pm

Working Environment:

Work to be done in Richfield, OH Office

Tools and Equipment Used:

Computer, e-mail, copier, phone, and other standard office equipment

Travel:

Less than 10%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
