Paying Tuition PDF Print

For new students

  1. Please note that you cannot pay your bill from the university until after you have registered for classes, which you will be able to do after check-in.

  2. Please do not carry large sums of cash to the United States. It is best to set up a U.S. checking account and then have money wired from home to the account. We can provide you with additional information on banking in the U.S. during check-in or you may read the banking section on our web site.
  3. For all students

    1. Fees are due on the first day of classes unless otherwise noted on the statement of account (your bill from the university). You may pay your fees online from a U.S. checking or savings account via QuikPAY.

    2. The Office of the Bursar in the Office of the Treasurer does not accept credit or debit cards for fee payment; they will, however, accept a courtesy check from a credit card company.

    3. Someone else can pay your fees by check (from a U.S. bank account) as long as payment is made payable to The Ohio State University and includes your university identification number. (This number usually starts in 999 or 997 or is your Social Security Number and is listed on your acceptance letter).

    4. Payment via mail
      • You can send a personal check, money order, or cashier check (all from a U.S. account) with your university identification number to:
The Office of the Bursar, Dept 0997
        Columbus, OH 43271-0997.

      • If you have an external scholarship check or other third party payment, the payment should be mailed to:
The Office of the Bursar, 220 Lincoln Tower
        1800 Cannon Drive
        Columbus, OH 43210

      • Please remember to indicate your university identification number.

      • Payment in person

        • Please take your check to The Office of the Bursar, 220 Lincoln Tower, 1800 Cannon Drive

      • Tuition Option Payment Plan (TOPP)

        • If you are not able to pay your entire bill at the beginning of the quarter, the university offers a tuition payment plan that lets you split up your payments.

      • Late fees

        • Fees that are not paid by the deadline will be subject to university late fees. The Housing Office may assess separate late fees. The first day tuition is paid late, the late fee will be assessed at $100. If fees are not paid by the second Friday of the quarter, the $100 late fee will be removed and a $300 late fee will be assessed in its place.

      • Statement of Account

        • Account Statement (bill). Your student username and password will be required to access the statement of account. If you have not yet set up your OSU Internet username and password and your OSU email account, you can do so here.

      • Fee amounts

        • A listing of all fees is available from the University Registrar.
        • An Explanation of Fees is also available.
        • For further information and other questions, please visit the Office of The Treasurer or contact:
