Assistant Director of the American Language Center
Job Function:
To market and manage the TICKET program (Total Immersion Course for Korean English Teachers) and the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), as part of the American Language Center at Bloomfield College.
Essential Duties:
· Develop the curriculum for the TICKET and TEFL program
· Report to and assist Vice President and Director of the ALC Programs
· Prepare program budgets and projected P/L
· Function as the liaison between the instructors and students
· Assist with instructor hiring
· Develop detailed program schedules and room requirements
· Collect foreign student’s visas and required paper work
· Coordinate foreign students’ arrival/departure
· Prepare for foreign students’ housing needs
· Coordinate foreign teacher’s teaching practicum in Public Schools
· Assist students in acclimating to American culture (shopping, banking, travel, and etc.)
· Conduct intake interview, testing, advisement and placement of students
· Order all educational materials
· Register students and collect payments
· Schedule and monitor teacher evaluations
· Advise students in academic and cultural areas
· Provide reports of student progress for sponsoring agencies
· Track student evaluations and generate reports related to the same
· Assess the viability of new programs and develop new program proposals
· Attend meeting with clients and marketing staff to determine curriculum and ESL needs
· Participate in open houses, job fairs, clients and governmental agency visits
· Develop marketing materials, advertisements, catalog design and other collateral materials
· Support new business development activities
· Marketing travels required
· Additional duties as assigned by Director or Vice President

Requirements:
· A Master’s degree in Linguistics, ESL, Bilingual or related disciplines
· At least 3 years of proven operations, training, or marketing experience
· Experience with international students or educational exchange programs
· Proven project management and organizational skills
· Solid communication skills -- oral and written proficiency in both English and Korean.
· A driver’s license and ability to drive students and faculty in the New York-New Jersey area
· Must be flexible
