특기 사항
미국내 주립대학중 Welding engineering program을 단일 학과로 운영하고 있는 곳은
OSU밖에 없다. 따라서 이 학과는 용접 및 접합기술과 그 응용 기술을 종합적으로
연구/교육하는 미국내 유일의 학과라 할 수 있다. 또한 용접분야의 세계적 연구기관인
EWI(Edison Welding Institute)와 긴밀한 협력관계를 유지하여 산학 협동 연구를 활발히
진행하고 있다. 졸업 후 진로도 다양하며 졸업생의 미국내 연봉 수준은 공과대학
상위권에 있다.
