Join us for an informal discussion about a scientific topic. Anyone is welcome, although seating may be limited. We will meet in the Gateway Movie Theater in the South Campus Gateway.
Date: June 3, 2009 6:30 pm (doors open at 6 pm)
Speaker: Kenneth Hale, R.Ph., Ph.D., Assistant Dean & Clinical Associate Professor, Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Lane J. Wallace, PhD, Chair and Professor, Division of Pharmacology
Title: Prescription Stimulants as Cognitive Enhancers: Pharming to Get By or Welcomed New Method of Improving Brain Functioning?
Abstract: This program explores the use of prescription stimulants as cognitive enhancers ("smart drugs"). Dr. Hale and Dr. Wallace, faculty members at the College of Pharmacy, and a panel of pharmacy students will examine the science behind this phenomenon including what we know about drug efficacy, addiction, safety, and legal/social issues. We will also present data on the nonmedical use of these substances by students at OSU.
*** You can purchase drinks and food at the Theater ***
Park in the Gateway parking ramp:
