The off season has finally come to an end, and we hope cars are nearly prepped and ready to go for the start of the 2013 OVR Solo Season!
The biggest news for Solo is that after many correspondences, meetings, and a proposal to OSU by Simi and I, we have secured the OSU Ackerman Lot for use in the 2013 season! This is a big ‘weight’ lifted off our shoulders as we are able to continue our relationship with OSU. We are very grateful to have this lot for the 2013 season.

Lastly, with the New Year, we are not excited to announce that the cost of doing solo events have gone up. These costs are due to the following:
We continue to maintain our equipment and replace items that need it in order for us to have a smooth, efficient, safe, and enjoyable event. We ‘shop around’ for everything that we purchase, and even purchase ‘second hand’ when the opportunity presents itself. Last year we absorbed increased sanction and insurance costs from the SCCA, so that members and entrants would not have to pay extra. This year, the fees have gone up again, and we are no longer able to absorb those costs. Our motorsport reg. processing fees have increased this year, the costs of lot usage has gone up, and we have always given money for the use of the Buckeye lot via our partnership with Center for Automotive Research (CAR) of The Ohio State to make a per car donation. These donations, among other reasons, are one of the reasons that we have a relationship with OSU and are able to run our events there this year. We will continue to make that donation this year, on top of paying OSU Parking Management based on the proposal that we submitted to them. The costs at NTR have also gone up. We tried to increase this as little as possible. Thank you for your understanding as we try to keep the OVR Solo Region fiscally ‘in check.’
